"Why can't we get rid of him now?"

Careful selection and omission of news (some relevant facts are shown and some are not)
Distortion of statistics or numbers;

Tax The Golfers, The Stoners and The Boozers (The Final Solution)

Photobucket

I was thinking of the TS community as I was driving to Solvang today
I drove by a nice golf course
It made me think of Arnold and his recent proposal
In a victory for California’s golf business and consumers, legislators rejected a proposed tax on golf-related activities that was intended to help reduce the state’s massive budget deficit. The California Alliance for Golf, a

The Social Responsibility of Business is to Increase its Profits

This was written in 1970
I think of it when I read about "socially conscious" mutual funds.....

The Social Responsibility of Business is to Increase its Profits
by Milton Friedman
The New York Times Magazine, September 13, 1970

When I hear businessmen speak eloquently about the "social responsibilities of business in a free-enterprise system," I am reminded of the wonderful line about the Frenchman who discovereContinue

The Monetary Economics of Thurston Howell III

I always looked up to Thurston as a kid!!!!

Gilligan's Island is now out on DVD, reawakening the unanswered questions of childhood: why does the Skipper let Gilligan help with anything when he knows he'll just screw it up? Why did the movie star take a day cruise in an evening gown? Why did two of the richest people in the world board a dinky boat with the hoi polloi instead of leasing a private yacht? And why do anContinue

I don't really see it as a failure by Obama. So every sitting president who didn't get an Olympic bid under his watch, failed?? What percentage has the US "lost" out on the bids in the past?? Good for Rio Seems like a great city with lots of culture

Did you say you took those pictures? I was thinking it may have been a building in D.C. that I missed. Great pictures.

Anyway, one of these days I'm going to take a good long look through SB. It certainly is a beautiful place.

I'll be busy for quite a while taking my education glutton wifey to Long Beach once a week. Really, she can't get enough education. I guess that is a good thing? We go to LA often anyway to see the kids and grandkids. Gotta love grandkids. It's fun finding my grandson toys that make noise at yard sales. He is 3 yrs old.

My granddaughter and grandson are visiting us tomorrow. They live in LA. Most of my kids (7) transplanted to CA which explains why we are here. Definitely would like to see the fair next year. The Paso Robles Christmas lights night is really cool. Usually in December, I think. Duh!

I hear you about the heat. Plus, the town is kind of an old folks home for retired ranchers. Nothing wrong with that! LOL

I'd like to see Obama take that advice. When we elected you we didn't expect miracles. We didn't even expect much change. But we expected some. We thought you would stop the madness. Stop the killing. Stop the insane idea that men with guns can r...
